RESEARCH
Research, methods and material transformation.
01 / Trend Forecasting & Cultural Analysis
GORA GALA develops fashion through research, observation and transformation. Trend forecasting and cultural analysis provide a framework for understanding changing behaviours, aesthetics, materials and social contexts.
Research is used to identify emerging visual and cultural relationships and translate them into concrete design directions. Fashion is approached as a medium that can reflect its time, communicate ideas and respond to its surrounding context.
02 / Matrix of Rhetorical Transformations
The practice uses a matrix of rhetorical transformations to develop new relationships between an existing form and a transformed one. Methods include deformation, pluralization, reduction, permutation, inversion, division, cutting, overlay, wrapping and structural detail.
These transformations provide a systematic way to move from an initial fashion prototype towards new silhouettes, constructions and visual identities without losing the logic of the original form.
03 / Fashion Design & Structural Transformation
Research continues through the construction of garments and prototypes. Silhouette, proportion, division, opening, layering, draping and construction are treated as tools for developing form.
The process connects conceptual research with the physical realities of clothing, allowing ideas to be tested through pattern, construction, movement and material behaviour.
04 / Material Transformation & Upcycling
Existing materials can be dismantled, recombined and transformed into new structures. Upcycling is approached not simply as a sustainable technique, but as a design method that reveals new possibilities within materials that already exist.
Material research connects construction, surface, texture and meaning, moving between fashion objects, textile experimentation and spatial work.
